The adorable and admirable combo of Sherlock Holmes and Watson has multiple iterations in numerous languages over the past few years. Adapting the duo in a faithful manner especially in a regional language would be a daunting task. Many aspects and characteristics of the detective and his associate should be modified to suit the region and the setting of the film. Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya has been immensely successful in this aspect.

Naveen Polishetty’s Agent effortlessly blends humour and detective skills to keep the viewers at the edge of their seat till the end, and to accompany the icing on the cake, there is a satisfying cherry on top in the form of case closure. The movie is a treat to cinephiles with various references and nods to other classic Hollywood films. The story follows a trail of bodies from Andhra Pradesh to Rajasthan. As the norm followed for all thriller and investigative films, divulging further details can spoil the viewing experience. Investigation film fans, do not miss this one.

Verdict: 6/7 stars

Brilliant.
