“Rajnikant movies are fantasy, this one is for the realists. Story and Action that will awe you, shock you but doesn’t defy laws of gravity.”

If you have watched Oscar Award Winner Paolo Sorrentino’s movies, you know what you are in for. That class is there in each of his movies I have watched, be it The Great Beauty(2013), The Consequences of Love (2004) or Youth(2015) . If you want to see an old man realistically kick ass, make mistakes, own up for it, receive epiphanies, experience love again, this is just the movie for you. Titta Di Girolamo (Toni Servillo) is a middle-aged loner and the central character of this movie. His backstory, relationships and present are revealed slowly via the movie.

Is love a distraction or does it make one’s life better?

This movie is one for drama lovers. It’s beautifully slow yet engaging and unpredictable. Weird combination but makes it work. This is in direct contrast to Rajnikant movies of the south which ooze literal action, unbelievable stunts and pure entertainment sequences. This one is a slow poison to trickle your senses, emotions and beliefs. Not disclosing any further, I totally recommend this flick. If you love Kamal Hassan’s and Rajnikant’s latest movies, you will love this one too.

Verdict. 6/7 stars.

Brilliant.
