Watching Irul makes you feel that Covid – 19 was not all bad for film making. It paved way for tailor made OTT flicks that do not have the burden of raking in money at the box office.  Irul is one such movie that is short but crisp,  providing the necessary chills and thrills that will pique  the curiosity of the audience  for an hour and a half. The character of Fahad Fassil that reeks and screams of mystery along with the charming innocence of Darsana Rajendran definitely formed the roses on the cake. But Soubin’s character was easily the thorn among them as he failed to capture the essence of the movie and never felt in control. It would have undoubtedly helped the movie, if that character was handled better. By and large Irul feels like reading a thriller novel that is bound to satisfy the viewers at home.

Verdict: 5/7 Stars

Excellent.

Trivia:

  • The film has only three characters.
