Sometimes an industry that is criticised for an overflow of realistic drama films successfully blends it with sub genres like romance or thriller.

And when they do the output is beyond phenomenal.

Within a matter of a few minutes the movie does an upshift and never slows down from there. It engages you, scares you and makes you even question the frames you were watching a while ago. Towards the climax it reaches top speed that could prove to be a tough task for your mind to keep up with. Khalid Rahman what an absolute masterclass, nothing to say but bring on the next one please.

Verdict: 6/7 Stars.

Brilliant.

Trivia:

  • After a romantic drama Anuraga Karikkin Vellam (2016) and political black comedy Unda (2019), Khalid Rahman comes back with a spectacular film in a new genre in Love (2020).

  • Following the film’s announcement in June 2020 amidst country-wide lockdown in India, social media was ablaze with comments made by Kerala-based film body associations remarking that new films should not begin rolling before old/stuck films are completed.
