Some movies won’t leave us for a while and the hangover keeps inflaming within us. Sleeplessly Yours seems to be a line at first and tangles like a magic rope towards the end. This kind of movie should be experienced blindly. If you felt something similar in the above lines, Wrap this up and watch it now! Otherwise…

I heard about this film during 23rd IFFK and once it was released on YouTube, my friend said: “bro, you have to give it a shot. This is something really good”.And after watching, this one stays still within.

Manasi(Devaki Rajendran), fondly called Maanu is a yoga instructor, and Jessy (Sudev Nair) an aspirant documentary filmmaker being in love decides to go sleepless for some days, and most of the movie portrays how those insomniac days got hold of their life and the disappearance of Maanu one day. The chaos and the charismatic performances are the cornerstones to make the audience stick to the screen, devises a degree of lunacy that holds up with the characters. The conventional side of Jessy had conflicts with the rebellious and enigmatic Maanu’s side which the character has formulated from her unrevealed past which proffers shades of mystery to the narrative. The sleeplessness had tortured the hidebound thoughts of Jessy who is willing for a commitment when Maanu enjoys every bit of it. The perception of deprived sleep is emphatically shown in each frame. The tone, mannerisms, thoughts, dark circles under eyes, weary bodies, conversations, and emotions are eloquently absorbed that the movie demands! The eccentric inner bond and love that Manasi and Jessy shared on-screen held my attention. When Jessy tries to remember what happened and deep dives into memories to find Maanu back, eventually develops compassion for Maanu, where the movie shifts to a different tint. 

The portions where Rama Sethu is metaphorically exemplified between the characters is an impressive thought and how the climax is shot, stirred many feelings inside and left me with a heavy heart, And this movie has an aesthetic quality to be remembered.
